better rotation

A uniform solid cylinder of radius R=15 cm rolls over a horizontal plane passing into an inclined plane forming an angle α=30° with the horizontal. Find the maximum value of the velocity vo which still permits the cylinder to roll onto the inclined plane section without a jump. the sliding is assumed to be absent.

I think this is a JEE question of the past!

Things to take care:
1) Energy conservation because there is no slipping!
2) At the dent point, there is no slipping, so there is pure rotation at the bottom point... And Normal Reaction is Non-Zero.

Try this .. You will definitely be able to get an answer!

I believe it's an Irodov problem.

1. In the following eg.:
C6H5-CH2+
is more stable than CH3-CH2+

by resonance effect, even though phenyl grp is an e- withdrawing grp that destabilises the carbocation and the methyl grp that shows +I-effect stabilises the carbocation.
So, what is the criterion that decides the stability of a carbocation??
