Try this one...
A ball of mass m is thrown towards a rod of mass M with speed u. The rod is kept on a horizontal frictionless table.
(I meant to say that the motion is in x-y plane and gravity acts in the z-direction)
The coefficient of restitution between rod and ball is "e".The speed with which ball rebounds is...?
Another variation to this problem can be a situation where the ball hits the rod at a distance x from one end (and not at the centre of mass of the rod).
