deviation

2 equal smooth spheres of radius r move with same speed in opp directions along parallel lines at a distance c apart. (c<2r). PRove that motion of each deviates through right angle if c2-(1+e)=rer2 where e is coeff of restiution.

i have pbm with question itself

the relation c2-(1+e)=rer2 is dimensionally wrong i think so

sorry eureka for not answering this one for a long long time...

The basic reason is that the question is dirty and i din feel like attempting it...

I will give u the hint... (basically not much of a hint .. but the most obvious thing)

Pls try it once..> I am 100% sure that you will get this one on your own...

1) "e" is along the common normal!

2) take the direction of the velocity along the common normal...

3) conserve momentum....

that is all :)
