GIVE REASON

A man travelling in a fast moving train watches the nearby objects moving in the opposite direction,

but the distant objects appear to be stationary. WHY???

a man directs the umbrella in the direction of velocity of river(infact in dirn of relative velocity of rain wrt man)

but he has to direct his umbrella vertically upwards to protect himself from sun rays, although he is not at rest!!!!

Angular velocity is what is making the difference. Relative to us, the sun, galaxies etc. are hurtling at enormous speeds. But we hardly notice the angular displacement over short periods of time.
