The net displacement of com is l/2+l/2=l
so the work done will be mgl
is it correct?

answer is Mg(l2) since initially raising centre of mass by l/2 and rest work is done by gravity

so workdone against gravity = Mg(l2)

ohh ...but u din mention tat the velocity during taking up is negligible n thel its free fall..................

i mean if we take dis thing very slowly ateach step...then work done = change in potential energy = 0...
