The velocity of a particle moving in a straight line is decreasing at the rate of 3m/s per metre of displacement at an instant when the velocity is 10 m/s.Determine the acceleration of the particle at this instant.

Is the ans. -30m/s2?

Yes it is correct. We have dv/ds = -3 m/s and ds/dt = 10 m/s

hence a = dv/dt = dv/ds * ds/dt = -30 m/s2

ya ya got it thanks....-30m/s2 is correct.....got it by (a=vdvds)...
