Ans: m1F/(2k(m1+m2))

Elongation max when instantaneously at rrest

a_cm=F/m1+m2
Apply pseudo on both blocks now

F_net2=F-m2a
F_net1=m1a
Displace m1 by x1 and m2 by x2
W2=(F-m2a)x2
W1=(m1a)x1

Î”W_net=Î”U
=>(F-m2a)x2+(m1a)x1=k(x1+x2)²/2

x1+x2=2Fm1/k(m1+m2)
