a question on convex lens ....

A Diverging Lens is placed with its pole at the origin and its principal axis along the x-axis.Equation of an incident ray is given by y=-x2+3. The focal length of the lens is 4 cm.Find the equation of the divergent ray??

We need the formula for finding out the angle of deviation - which is \frac{h}{f}....which is tank, where k is the nagle of deviation.....

Ur ray cuts the Y-axis at (0,3) - So tank=\frac{3}{4}=\left|\frac{m_1-m_2}{1+m_1m_2} \right|

m_2=\frac{2}{7} - thus eqn is y-3=\frac{2x}{7}\Rightarrow 7y-2x=21.....pls correct me if wrong.
