use newton's formula f2=d2*d3 d2 is object distance from focus , d3 image distance from focus from this focus is 6 cm as mirror focal length does not depend on medium so f=-6cm but typical if it was lens think???

hmm... its for any mirrors ...

whether it works for lenses, will think n say....

skygirl

is it applicable for any mirror,lens ?????????????????????

fine then

exactly Akshay it is Newton's Law.

@ Aarogorn,it is Newton's Law in Optics

applicable for any u,v?

thnx for the new method

i knew u were gonna post this. how did u get this?

1
skygirl ·

formula: u.v.= f2 (u=object from focus, v = image from focus)

11
Anirudh Narayanan ·

6 cm????

Subash ·

right then post it

actually i got to knoe the method.. n am wishing to share it wid all of you :)

thn say reducing time method..........right?

11
Anirudh Narayanan ·

yes, honey.
Sky was that why you were telling in 1 min?

It will come out to
x2=36

I don't think solving this will take >1 min [3]

1
skygirl ·

okie... then the method i will say .... will be in 10 secs [3]

1
Honey Arora ·

u cn use uv/u+v = f to reduce time

Anirudh Narayanan ·

Why not in 1 min??

in 1 min ??? [7] [5] [4]

If focal length is x.

Then u=-(x+4)

v=-(x+9)

f=-x

Substitute in mirror formula and solve [4]
