Question on apparent depth

Q1)A liquid of ref ind 'n' is filled in a tank.A plane mirror is kept at the bottom of tank.A point like object is at height h from mirror. An observer observes P and img obtained of P from top vertically upward direction. What is the distance observed by the observer?Pls explain in detail.

The virtual img is outside the tank.from apparent depth concept how can it be raised so that we see it inside the liquid?

Q2)For convex mirrors if incident rays are parallel to principal axis we extend the reflected light backwards which meets at focus. This is so illogical. There is no light backwards, then why do we forcibly do it to get the image?
