see ,this is what I got from Morrison Boyd . pg 860 .
Kb ( in powers of 10^-10)

Aniline - 4.2
ortho - 2.6
meta - 5
para - 12

which measn that tapan and sky are right .

I wrong . :( :( pata nahin chem me hi aisa mistakes kar raha hoon . 3-4 days se kuch theek nahi chal raha hai

corect ans is 3>2>4>1 . given by tapan

@ sri.. who is rit now ????????

tapan or u?????

but priyam said dat d ans given is para>meta>ortho

1
voldy ·

aniline has least basicity that's for sure .
and among the isomers . orhto has maximum , then comes para , then meta
so 1>3>2>4

oh got it now....

i was taking rubbish yesterday[3]

para>meta>aniline>ortho

1
dinks007 ·

1 is least basic due to large steric hindrance....
in 3 both hyperconjugation and inductive effect is there......
2 has inductive effect......
4 is only having ortho effect...
thus 3>2>4>1

dekho bhai . tumko kisne kaha ki ortho effect . means you just increase the acidity of the group present in ortho position . that's wrong will post why later gtg for now . and b/w try my organic problem . in general chem forum. :)

deepanshu is correct :)

@ sky . if it goes out of plane what happens to resonace of lp wiht the benzene ring ? inc ya dec ??

so what happens basicity inc ya dec ???

I'm leaving the rest to you

more basic means shud lack in electrons as they accept ele.

rather, opposite.

more basic means they give electrons easily.

which one is more basic? NH3 or H2O ?

think.
