just from the question's perspective

1.i don't understand why no2-ch2-cooNa will not be formed

2.and how without mentioning soda-lime decarbolxylation took place(although NaOH) is present

@ abhishek: there are two types of carboxylation

one is by NaOh and Cao

and other is by kolbe`s electrolysis. so if anyone says NaOH It is taken to be soda lime carboxylation.

tell me if u know any other carboxylation using NaOH.
