20) P - used as a solvent
19)R - this I dunno only speculating . the O-O bond is not a very stable bond.
18) I'd go for R as stronger bond's formed. I dunno for sure.

oh yeah deviated from the main Q sry for that.

It stabilises the formed grignard reagent hence used as solvent.
