ParaGraph (Bonding)

Bent's rule is consistent with VSEPR theory.
Accord. to Bent's rule, the more electronegative substituent attaches itself to hybrid orbital that contains more p-charach./less s-character.

1) Molecule/ion inwhich Bond angle is less than 1090-
A)N+F4 B)CCl4 C) ClO4- D)None

2) Select the pair in which both have different hybridisation, but same molecular geometry-
A)BF3, BrF3 B) ICl2-, BeCl2
C)BCl3, PCl3 D) PCl3, NCl3

3) Find the species which is not perfectly planar-
A) . CH3 B) . CHF2
C) :CF2 D) . NO2

(A single dot repesents an electron/free radical)

btw, Doubt is only with 3), posted all due to the paragraph...[1]

(b) is unsymmetrical molecule (thats y thot), further . CF3 and . CHF2 have partial carbanion character because of back-bondng (so deviation from planarity)
