I think

from the conversion F-> G it is obvious that the variety is cis.

F is benzene with COOH on cis atoms...

i think eureka calculate double bond equivalent & then think wat may be probable answer from starting at different stages i think it will help u altough it is a long task but i dont know other shortcut

hey eureka where is the problem man, just look at the ratio of carbon atoms to hydrogen atoms,since it is not anywhere near 2n,2n+1 so it should be an aromatic compound, after that you just have to look out for side chain and rest is easy if you know the function of reagents.
