Souvik, I don't know if you solved this yourself or not, because you didn't write half the steps you took to get the product you did. That's what confused people into believing your product is wrong.
My first answer is indeed wrong. We treat succinic anhydride as an ester when we react GRs with it, that's why. I missed that part.
