How does black body radiation prove the particle nature of light? Why can't it be explained using the wave nature?

the radiation being emitted were found to be some integral multiples of hÎ½ which is said to be because of photons.

Thanx. It explains it to a certain extent.

The classical wave nature of light (which was given by Newton) failed to explain it. Modern theory of waves do explain the phenomenon. What was wrong with the classical wave theory?
