Prove that the degree of dissociation α of HI is related to equilibrium constant Kp by the expression \frac{2\sqrt{K_p}}{1+2\sqrt{K_p}}

2HI = H2 + I2
conc (t=0) a 0 0
conc (t=teq) a(1-x) ax/2 ax/2 (here x is deg of dissociation)

Kp = [H2][I2]/[HI]2 = a2x24a2(1-x)2
=> Kp = (x2(1-x))2

=> 1/2√Kp = 1/x -1

=> x = 2√Kp1+2√Kp (proved)
