why greater s- character ,shorter the C-H bond ?????????????

this is because greater s char means electron has more probability to go in s orbital which is spherical in shape (less extended in space as compared to lobes of p orbital).. and thus it has shorter bond...

s orbitals are closer to the nucleus than the other orbitals (penetration of s>p>d>f) . So the s-electrons are more closer to the nucleus . So if more s-character, the elctronegativity increases and hence the elctrons are pulled closer . Hence the bond length reduces and bond strength increases
