A uniform chain of length L and mass M is hanging vertically from its ends A and B which are close together.At a given instant the ened B is released.Find the tension at A when B has fallen a distance x(<l)

The downward force is Mass * Gravity

Therefore on leaving B this force is equal to the tension

Therefore tension is Mg.

the hanging chain problems and all are solved using some other method altogether...

i guess there was one problem long time back on forum which eureka had posted.. i did post the soln too.. but this one is much more complex compared to that one..

or I m plain dumb :D

I wud love to see someone prove the second one.. so that i learn too :)
