Q if p=(x2-x1)2+(2√x2-x1-2)2 , x1,x2 ε R and x2 > 0 , then find minimum value of p ??

take partial derivative wrt x1

put it as zero..

get the relation with x2 of x1.

now i think you have a single function of x2

can u explicitly mwentino the 2 curves u r talking abt!

The two curves are :
1.y^{2}=4x
2.y=x+2
Now, think about the distance between two points one on each curve and you will get the square-root of the same expression.
so, we find the minimum distance.
is there any problem now?
