have been thinking in the back of my mind for the last 2 days... fInally got a very dirty method to solve this one...

1/(1+x¹⁶)

1/(1- i x⁸).(1+i x⁸) where is is square root of -1

1/2 {1/(1- i x⁸) + 1/(1+ i x⁸)}

Now continue in this way to get a very very dirty expression. That I hope helps...
