I knw the method of solving it by y=tanθ and then taking θ=tan-1y.......can nyone suggest another method....

u can take y=tanθ.

and do necessary changes in limits...

y u wan oder method wen u hav one dnt waste tym unnecesaarily yaar

one more thing u can do is substite log(1+x) as t
then et -1=x
then u can proceed.........

but............
.......

................................................

u end no where !!! :P

i knw this method but need another method.....

y=tanθ and θ=tan-1y

dy/dx=sec2θ.dθ

so the integrand changes....changing the limits......

0∫π/4 log(1+tanθ).sec2θ.dθ/1+tan2θ

=0∫π/4 log(1+tanθ).dθ..........

Now Rest is urs....but as i told "I NEED ANOTHER METHOD"....

use the property now of f(x)=f(a+b-x)

it becomes

I=0∩/4∫log (1+tan(∩/4-θ)dθ

=0∩/4∫log(2/1+tanθ)dθ

rationalize and substitute

now the question is urs[1]
