Q) Find the maximum radius of a semi-circle that can be placed inside a square of side 'a'

why?
it can't be the diameter... or else the circumference will go out of the square.... touching one of its vertex...
maybe i m wrong... but just shared my view...!!

Is it necessary that the semi-circle should touch all the sides of the triangle? Or is it just placed inside it?

Please explain clearly.

it is actually placed in the square , but for the condition of max. radius it should touch two sides.

And yes its square I said Triangle by mistake :P.!

I don't know whether I'm correct or not but I got something like this,

Max. Radius = length of diagonal - length of extended radius whole divided by 2

length of extended radius means→ (radius of circle is extended to touch one of the vertex of the square).

I will post solution too shortly which I got.

And yes AC is the diagonal
