Is the question this much only?..bcoz in this case minimum common area can b zero also!

1.√2+1
2.2(√2-1)
3.4(√2-1)
4.3+√2

i did some option eliminating :P

the side of a square inscribed would be √2

so area of one square would be 2

since A and D are greater than 2 they cant be correct

C seemed more correct with the figure
