Find the Eccentricity...

FIITJEE HCT-6 Qsn.....

If a central conic is represented by the std form ax^2+2hxy+by^2=0 with the condition that tangents at any point have a constant area (=k) of the triangle that they form with the co-ordinate axes, then find the possible values of the eccentricity 'e' and the const. area.

First of all, the equation you have given is NOT a central conic.

what i knew was that the equation of all conics with centre at the origin is ax2 + 2hxy +by2 =1 ........[12]

Oh, very very sorry, the eqn is ax^2+2hxy+by^2=1.....[2] [2][2]
