If 'a' isn't an integer, the answer is 0.

no anirudh..

u have to find the points in the interior .. not on the circle..

even then if a=5.. then (3,4) wud be a solution!!

Hint: The answer is by a summation of series

I got this question for a specific a in one olympiad or sumthing like that a was small say 5 or so so i counted the points :P

hmm..

yeah ;)

I wud have done the same..

and i thought we could generalise.. but not sure either ;)

[(2(a2/2)1/2+1)2]

greatest integer function .. This includes the lattice points on the circle too though.... please check

hmmm super formula...
in simpler terms [(√2a+1)2]

I don't know.... if its correct ?? [7]

Lol i didn't solve .. I mean i just saw some graphs and got this one. .. I don't know if it is correct always ... and this one includes thepoints on the circle ...

no dude.. this is not the solution..

take a=1

the answer should be 1!!

btw even i am not sure of any good solution :(

I said it includes the points on the circle... if you take 1, then it also includes (0,1),(1,0),(0,-1),(-1,0) and (0,0)

varun.. i think it says interior points!!
