i thot u wer asking the tot no of boxes in a chess board = 8*8 so i wrote u had to be kidding

wer does da logic u suggested originate frm apart frm the fact that we can easily realise dat on counting, like is ther ne mathematical algorithm{WIDOUT COUNTING} by which u say no of sq os side length 7 is equal to 2² ???
