The case by that NGO was disposed off.
A fresh appeal is what is needed to spark off the case again.

may be this idea can help:

see, Mr. Kapil sibal is a cabinet minister. Which means he takes part in the events of lok sabha.
Wat u guys must do is , approach the opposition parties, for eg: BJP.
the opposition parties are always searching for points to critize the ruling party.
And i bet they wont like missing out this crucial point.
If somehow u can realise the opposition how big the issue is ,
i bet, there will be 100% success. The opposition will point out this issue in the loksabha, and believe me , they will hav to take some action. The whole nation will come to know about it. IF guys here know even a little of Indian politics, and wat happens in loksabha, and about the right to speech and etc, etc, will know wat i m talking about.

But please understand that , i am not demanding a re-exam, bcz i never faced even an inch of a problem during JEE. Similarly i ask other friends here, to please dont ask for a re-exam just bcz ur JEE didnt go well. I also didnt do well in JEE. But that is solely bcz of me. Why do u want to screw those people whose JEE this year was good.
BUT i strongly agree to the point that those who are not given a fair chance, have the right to voice their concerns.

well, looking at the over all situation as it stands, i feel that a re-exam is the only way out. considering the unfathomable and serious blunders made in a paper where every 1 mark makes such an enormous difference, the only way out is to conduct a re-examination. Sorry to say, but this actually shows how much irresponsible the prof.s are and how less confidence they have in their mates, as the questions if shown to even 1 more prof than the exam setter, could have been good enough to catch the loop hole. As proud as i was of iitm, im ashamed now. If the iits find a re-examination on a large scale unfeasible, then a possible solution could be to conduct a re-examination on a smaller scale, ie. only for the ones who have made it to the top 80,000 (1 lac. at most). (assuming that the probability of the lower ones than that to make it to the top 10,000 is considerably low). its definitely true that something has gone terribly amiss, and sure as hell, some remedy has to be thought of to fix the injustice.

cheers!!

i really lyk qwerty's idea. iit put up dis corrective measures just to hide their faults and slow down things so that they can get closer to the result date. this things have to be put up in light through a large mass. dont know how many of u will agree with me, but if u see the corrective measures, all except 1 were meant for hindi students (as if to satisfy nitish kumar, the only politician who raised his voice against the blunders)...guys i urge u not to loose ur voice aftr d announcement of d corrective measures...any soln they give will b unfair for a certain mass if not a large mass.

i dont think whether this idea would work or not but if a reexam is conducted and the average of the two exams be taken. so that those who have been in a loss on the 11th would get a fair chance and those whose exam went well enough on 11th there work will also not be in vain.
the post is gettin longer and no effect on anybody except targetiitians. somebody has 2 come up early

Bihar's Super 30 demands re-conduct of IIT-JEE

15 April, 2010

Patna, (IANS) Super 30, a city-based free coaching centre for the economically poor, has demanded the re-conduct of the Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) following blunders in Hindi version which they say will severely hamper chances of those who attempted the question paper in that language.

Anand Kumar, director-cum-founder of Super 30, told IANS: "It was high time IIT-JEE should conduct a fresh examination in view of blunders that would badly hit prospects of hundreds of students from Hindi speaking states."

The entrance exam to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology was held Sunday.

"Such blunders could ruin the prospects of students from poor and rural background. ITT-JEE should think of taking a re-examination." he said.

Vivek Kumar, who appeared for the exam, said the errors in instructions of the Hindi version of the question papers will cost students 48 marks.

"I am not alone, there are thousands like me who will be hit hard by blunders in instructions of Hindi version," he said.

New Delhi, May 6 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Thursday admitted a public interest litigation of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that has sought stay on the declaration of result of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) entrance exam held April 11.
Raising the issue of errors in the instructions for examinees who took the IIT joint entrance examination (IIT-JEE) in Hindi, the NGO, Satya Foundation, filed the public interest litigation (PIL) on April 25, which was heard Thursday.

Chetan Upadhyaya, secretary and counsel of Satya Foundation, Thursday submitted before the court a list of serious blunders in the IIT JEE-2010 and said that instead of accepting the faults and re-conducting the examination, the Joint Admission Board was trying to cover up the issue with “corrective measures” which are “totally illogical and can’t be digested by anybody”.

The IIT-JEE board evolved corrective measures May 2 to ensure that genuine candidates were not affected by the examination errors. It formulated a point-by-point remedial action and posted the same on the IIT-JEE website May 2, it said.

But the petitioner demanded an interim stay on the publication of results till the pendency of the petition and also that the examination be reconducted.

The two-judge bench of Acting Chief Justice Madan B. Lokur and Ms. Justice Mukta Gupta, admitting the petition clubbed it along with the earlier petition filed by Rajeev Kumar, a professor at IIT Kharagpur through his legal counsel Prashant Bhushan April 7 for overall transparency in the IIT-JEE system.

Both the PILs will be heared before the court May 19.

The results of IIT-JEE-2010 are expected to be declared by May 26.

Chetan Upadhyaya expressed his strong disagreement before the court for clubbing the two PILs.

“These are two different issues, my PIL is about errors in the Hindi version of question paper of the IIT-JEE 2010 while Dr Rajeev Kumar’s PIL is about overall transparency in the IIT,” Upadhyaya said.

Anand Kumar, director-cum-founder of Super 30, told IANS over phone from Patna that the corrective steps taken up by the IIT-JEE could not bring justice to the Hindi medium student.

“The corrective measures taken by IIT-JEE can in no way provide justice to the students who opted for the Hindi medium question paper. The only solution is to re-conduct the examination,” Anand Kumar told IANS.

Chetan Upadhyaya said he has full faith in the judiciary and justice will be done.

“I have full faith in the judiciary, I am sure the court will do justice to the thousands of Hindi medium students in the next hearing May 19,” Upadhyaya told IANS.

Nothing is going to happen now, it's 7th by the calendar, with only 19 days to go 4 results.

Time is gone, and now more and more students have got used 2 da reality, so they won't support re-exam as before.
