do you know that even the iit professors who go to various centers to overlook the exam have no right to say anything regarding the paper...
plus...didnt you feel awkward while marking the answer of some other question in front of some other question...the serial numbers were from 1-86 . there was no chance of confusion...and tell me will you be able to perform the same way you performed on 11th april?
you have a genuine reason for re exam but dont you think its late for re exam

yes rkrokster its awkward... but what can we do if the invigilators giv us wrong instructions???

...and its not late for a re exam. Only the muggers will fail if re exam is conducted. Those whose concepts are clear will never forget what they hav learnt.

was jee 2010 paper based on concepts or formulas??? muggers can never make it to jee and trust me if re exam occurs the paper will be totallty f""ked up the compeitive exams are not a joke that you can give them anyday just because the concepts are clear to you....people work hard to ensure that they perform best from 9-12 and 2-5...its just not studying but involves other factors too ...and please tell me how do you conceptually study chemistry?? because most of the inorganic chemistry is about mugging up the reaction equations.. probhabhly you have been studying for the past 1 and half month now while you wasted time for the past two years and now you are more confident about cracking jee..

I'm very sure that i can do well in reexam also.
everyone of us have been writing other comp exams too.. it wont be that difficult too for us to revise again i hope...that too they give min 20days time
getting marks too is not the matter..there are many mistakes in the paper for which reexam is the only sol and we do have wonderful laws in our judiciary....
lets do what ever we can do.
sending a reg post as directed by satya foundation to chief justice delhi court is the best sol.....

i hav sent the letter as directed by satya foundtaion

i think evryone should do it immediately

exactly.....iitjee is like any other competitive exam

It is not the matter of 20 days. Since the case has gone to high court even if the court declares a verdict in favour of of re exam the jee officials would most probably appeal at supreme court. these things take time and if the supreme court offers a verdict in favour of re exam then jee would be held some where in the end of june . The results of that re exam will be declared somewhere in the end of july. This would be unfavourable since many of the colledges fill their seats by that time. This would again cause a choas among the students.

rkrokster ·

many will have to pay to reserve seats in aieee colleges and wait for jee result....and frankly....not everyone is that rich..

IIT is not like other competitive exam............
there is a complete prep. ,approach and mindset to crak it and 15 to 20 days in jee prep. never give you a satisfying result.............

I WILL ACCEPT THE DECISION OF HIGH COURT

May be u didnt do well in this attempt but i m tellin u it will be more to everyone to give re exam
and if there will be re exam u will get atmost 1 month for prep. which is not enough from my point of view to give your 60% in IIT

neither i m in favour of reexam nor i would hesitate in giving a reexam if it is conducted. the only reason is that i m satisfied with my performance and now bored off of studying. i havent opened my books for the past one month.
but i feel pity for those students who really messed up their jee. i have met with students this year who having the potential to crack iit messed it up due to the confusion. also somw students marked it according to the subject heading. also the hindi ones have a right for reexam.
but i am most angry with the jee board how do those mistakes crept in the paper. even if u give a invitation to someone u check it up for errors. does the jee board quarrels among themselves. also 1 question of semiconductors in physics paper1 comprehension was out of syllabus(though it was solved). also 1 question in maths was a direct copy of patnam question. the 2009paper had altogether 16 complete blank pages but this had only 6 blank pages what they wanted should we rub our rough work then again do on it. this was a major factor who had affected the ones who had attempted the maths paper first bcoz it requiores a lot of pages. then where to solve physics.
after all the corrective measures is a stupid idea by these idiots. scaling the marks is ok from statistical point of view but how can scaling the marks do it for an individual.
suppose this year 5 questions came in jee. u are an english student who solved question no. 1,2 and 3 correctly .
u answered (3/5= 60 % questions)
i m a hindi student i also knew first second and third question correctly. but didnt knew 4 and 5 like u . say q. no. 5 was not printed in my paper . by the scaling method i answered ( 3/4= 75% questions) by the scaling method as given by these stupid professors so i will be above u in the rank list so is this a corrective measure

A very solid slap in the IIT's face

But what can the iit do if those who take examination in English score better marks. I have many talented freinds who inspite of studying in Hindi medium schools prefered to take the examination in english.

tumhein sharam nhn aayi,,-jis institute ka paper dene k liye tum taras rahe ho,,jiske liye tumne do saal lagaye,,, ..ab usi institue ko aisa kehte hue..!! mera man to kar raha hai ki tum ek baar samne aa jao phir kisi k samne aane layak nhn rahoge....!!....matlab y u r so rude towards d institue har institue se galtiyaan hoti hain...chahe vo kitna bhi bada kyun na ho....jab JAB one year main sahi paper nhn bana paye to is baar 20 dino main kaisa banayeinge tum log soch bhi nhn sakte ho,,.,....... jis institue go gaaliyaan de rhe ho...ye mat bhulo ki usi institute main tum bhi padna chahte ho...!

rororo ·

but dont u think its a bit toooo late now for a re exam

after all , all exam are going to be over by this month end and counsellings are going to start
a re exam will create a great mess at other places

1
rororo ·

high court will say that it sill reserve 2% seats for hindi students

1
rkrokster ·

suggestion by rororo is quite sensible...after all the petition is filed for the hindi medium students only...
plus most of the candidates geting good score must not have touched books for the past one month...so it will be hard to re prepare for them...
and how are iit 's at fault if only english medium candidates are selected???
is satya foundation aimed at producing crap in the court? [i hope it does]
and iit's did not specify how the scaling will be done...probably they have some other method because i dont think the way mentioned by shahbaz in post #372 is the only method of scaling possible {for eg. even in averaging there are many ways possible-mean median mode etc.}
even at the blog
http://eklavyajee06.blogspot.com/2010/05/iits-error-corrections-cannot_02.html
they have themselves devised a scaling method and then criticized it!! wtf are they trying to say!!!!
probhably the problem is nobody like iit due the difficulty of jee and the secrecy iit's maintain...so they just want to produce as many arguments as possible even if half of them are senseless

today is 19th ..wasnt some court going to take a decision on whether a reexam will happen?

If a question is not printed in your paper, you will get avg marks?

I feel this is stupid, coz if a question is not printed the person gets extra time to sove other questions plus (s)he will get avg marks. If the question(not printed) is a difficult one, then there is a greater advantage or vice versa.

What happened in the court today?

1
plg ·

But he looses time by panicking. Ofcourse he would since If the ORS has one ans slot extra An avg student would go through his Q paper twice to check if he has missed a Q. This loss of time evens the time gain.

Delhi High Court Refuses To Stay IIT JEE 2010 Results
New Delhi: Earlier, this month, the Delhi High Court admitted a petition to put stay on the declaration of IIT-JEE 2010 results. However, Delhi High Court has refused to put hold on the declaration of IIT JEE 2010 results. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) entrance exam, which was conducted on April 11, came under fire of allegation, due to errors in the instructions for examinees, who took the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) in Hindi.

As per sources, a case was registered in the High Court by a non-governmental organization (NGO), Satya Foundation, on April 23. Chetan Upadhyaya, the Secretary and Counsel of Satya Foundation who submitted a list of major errors in IIT-JEE 2010 before the court claimed that the officials of Joint Admission Board were trying to hide the issue, instead of accepting their fault. Chetan also added that the Board refused to re-conduct the examination.

1
D Queen ·

According to Mr Chetan Upadhyaya, Satya Foundation is going to appeal in the Supreme Court, against the decision of the Delhi High Court.

However, on May 2nd, IIT-JEE board took appropriate measures in order to ensure that the genuine candidates were not affected by the examination errors. It designed a point-by-point remedial action and posted the same on the IIT-JEE website. But, the petitioner has asked for a temporary stay on the declaration of the results, till the hearing is going on and also the examination is re-conducted.
